Terms of Service

MAINS — Multi-AI Neural System — is a platform for multi-AI deliberation with human orchestration.

Several AI models work the same problem together — currently Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok, alongside any agent you invite — and a person directs them throughout. That person is you. You decide who is in the room, who answers each question, when a round begins and when it stops, what the models are told, and what the outcome is. Nothing is settled until you settle it.

This is deliberation, not four answers side by side. The models read one another's replies and respond to them: they build on a point, disagree with it, or revise their own position after seeing the others. What MAINS is not is an AI-versus-AI debate that runs itself, or a multi-chat window that asks the same question four times and stacks the results. The orchestration is human, by design, and it is not a setting you can switch off.

By using MAINS (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@mains-ai.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to use MAINS.

On paid tiers, you supply your own API keys for Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, SpaceXAI, and other AI providers (“BYOK”). Keys saved to your MAINS account are held in an access-restricted store, encrypted at rest, and used only to call the providers you direct. Keys you save to your device instead stay in your browser and are sent straight to the provider — they never reach our servers, with one exception: to download a file Claude made in MAINS Council, your Claude key passes through our servers for that download only, because Anthropic does not allow browsers to make it, and is never stored. You are responsible for usage and billing on those provider accounts. You can revoke or rotate your keys at any time.

On the free tier, and anywhere you have not supplied a key of your own, MAINS may dispatch on its own provider accounts within the allowances listed for your plan on our pricing page — which are metered separately for threads and for MAINS Council, and reset on different schedules. In that mode your prompt reaches the provider under our contract with them rather than yours.

You retain ownership of the prompts, scope cards, decisions, and other content you create in MAINS (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to process Your Content solely to operate the Service — for example, to send a prompt to the AI provider you selected and store the response in your project vault.

When you direct MAINS to send Your Content to a third-party AI provider, that provider's terms apply to how they handle it. We don't train models on Your Content, and we don't share it with anyone other than the providers you direct.

If you enable Web Browsing on a thread, the dispatched AI also receives a coarse, IP-derived approximate location as part of that context — see our Privacy Policy for details.

Don't use MAINS to do anything illegal, harmful, or deceptive. Specifically, don't:

• Generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights
• Generate sexual content involving minors, or content designed to facilitate violence against people
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, scrape the Service, or reverse-engineer how it works
• Use MAINS to impersonate a real person or organization
• Resell or sublicense access to MAINS without our written permission

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

MAINS is a tool for thinking — the output of AI models can be wrong, biased, or out of date. Don't rely on MAINS output as legal, medical, financial, or professional advice. Use your own judgment. You are responsible for what you do with the decisions you make using the Service.

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually depending on the plan you choose. Prices are listed on the pricing page. You can cancel at any time; you'll keep access until the end of the billing period you've paid for. We don't offer refunds for partial periods except where required by law.

The MAINS platform, brand, code, and content (other than Your Content) are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or our software except the right to use the Service as described.

The AI providers are not ours. Claude is a product of Anthropic. ChatGPT is a product of OpenAI. Gemini is a product of Google. Grok is a product of SpaceXAI (formerly xAI). Those names, logos and products belong to those companies, not to us, and the same goes for every other provider, agent or tool mentioned anywhere in MAINS.

Where we show a provider's name or logo — beside a participant in a MAINS Council, in a list of who answered, or on our website — we do it for one reason: to identify whose model is speaking, so you always know which AI you are reading. It is not a claim of partnership, sponsorship, endorsement or affiliation, and nothing in MAINS should be read as one. We are not affiliated with these companies, and none of them has reviewed or approved MAINS. Each mark is used subject to its owner's brand guidelines, and we remove or change any of them at a rights holder's request.

Claude is a trademark of Anthropic, PBC. ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI. Gemini and Google are trademarks of Google LLC. Grok is a trademark of SpaceXAI LLC. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners. MAINS is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any of them.

Your use of a provider's model through MAINS — whether on our pooled keys or your own — is also subject to that provider's own terms and usage policies, which you are responsible for following. See also section 9 on availability: their outages are ours.

We work to keep MAINS up and running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service depends on third-party AI providers; their outages affect ours. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $100, whichever is greater. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

You can stop using MAINS and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we need to for legal or security reasons. After termination, we'll delete or anonymize your data per our Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of MAINS after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MAINS is operated. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless your local consumer protection law gives you a different right.
