Terms of Service

MAINS is a multi-AI orchestration platform that lets you direct several AI models — currently Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini — on the same problem and make the final decision yourself. By using MAINS (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@mains-ai.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to use MAINS.

On paid tiers, you supply your own API keys for Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and other AI providers (“BYOK”). Your keys are stored encrypted and used only to call the providers you direct. You are responsible for usage and billing on those provider accounts. You can revoke or rotate your keys at any time.

You retain ownership of the prompts, scope cards, decisions, and other content you create in MAINS (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to process Your Content solely to operate the Service — for example, to send a prompt to the AI provider you selected and store the response in your project vault.

When you direct MAINS to send Your Content to a third-party AI provider, that provider's terms apply to how they handle it. We don't train models on Your Content, and we don't share it with anyone other than the providers you direct.

If you enable Web Browsing on a thread, the dispatched AI also receives a coarse, IP-derived approximate location as part of that context — see our Privacy Policy for details.

Don't use MAINS to do anything illegal, harmful, or deceptive. Specifically, don't:

• Generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights
• Generate sexual content involving minors, or content designed to facilitate violence against people
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, scrape the Service, or reverse-engineer how it works
• Use MAINS to impersonate a real person or organization
• Resell or sublicense access to MAINS without our written permission

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

MAINS is a tool for thinking — the output of AI models can be wrong, biased, or out of date. Don't rely on MAINS output as legal, medical, financial, or professional advice. Use your own judgment. You are responsible for what you do with the decisions you make using the Service.

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually depending on the plan you choose. Prices are listed on the pricing page. You can cancel at any time; you'll keep access until the end of the billing period you've paid for. We don't offer refunds for partial periods except where required by law.

The MAINS platform, brand, code, and content (other than Your Content) are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or our software except the right to use the Service as described.

We work to keep MAINS up and running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service depends on third-party AI providers; their outages affect ours. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $100, whichever is greater. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

You can stop using MAINS and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we need to for legal or security reasons. After termination, we'll delete or anonymize your data per our Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of MAINS after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MAINS is operated. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless your local consumer protection law gives you a different right.
